How virtual PBX works
How does a virtual number work?
You need a virtual PBX and SIP gateways, where you put your SIM cards and you can make calls from the mobile network to the Internet
My main field of activity is "virtual phone numbers". They are "international IP telephony", they are "SIP telephony", they are "landline numbers", they are "cloud PBX", they are also "virtual or remote call center".
And I will explain to you on my fingers what PBX virtual telephony is and what it is eaten with. I am aware that many articles have been written on this topic, but in such a way that in human language I have not yet met.
What is telephony?
Any telephony, of course, refers to cases when you need to receive incoming calls or make outgoing calls. IP or SIP telephony refers to the cases when such calls go over the Internet. And here there are 2 main options: virtual landline and mobile numbers, and real mobile numbers. Further, there are options to install your own hardware or use a remote cloud server to install a virtual PBX. ATS is accordingly needed to handle calls. And a couple of cases for understanding the essence.
Working with real mobile numbers
First option. For example, you have a local online store (local means in your city / country) and several mobile numbers / phones that are lying around on your table in no particular order. Which is of course very inconvenient. And then the question arises of the need to bring all these calls into one convenient environment, so that it would be possible to keep statistics conveniently and distribute these calls among managers.
To do this, you need a virtual PBX and SIP gateways, where you put your SIM cards and you can make calls from the mobile network to the Internet. A virtual PBX is so called because it is located on the Internet on a server. It's not such a big room with telephone equipment. SIP gateways are a device into which a SIM card is inserted and calls are converted from the mobile network to the Internet and vice versa.
How does a virtual number work?
Let's say you want to open your UK office. You buy a virtual London number for rent. In terms of format and dialing, it does not differ in any way from an ordinary city number in London, and this is its meaning.
